Columbia Journalism School and The New York World are convening journalists and journalism educators from across the U.S. for a one-day conference on the growing role of academic institutions and their students and faculty as news-reporting resources in their communities and beyond.
Panels will cover effective practices in teaching through the production of journalism; the experiences of professional newsrooms that have collaborated with journalism programs; making the most of opportunities for innovation and public engagement; and the legal issues that educators and institutions of higher education must navigate in their roles as content generators.
